What is the Rasta Belief and how does it relate to your life?

The rasta belief is not something you should be surprised at. Rasta men believe that being naked helps them get closer to God. Rasta women, however, are required to wear ankle-length clothes and must not wear any chemicals or make-up. They are also forbidden from using birth control.

Dreadlocks

Dreadlocks have a profound spiritual meaning to the rasta belief. Dreadlocks are believed to be a sign of spiritual commitment, awareness of Gods, and appeal to them for guarantors. Dreadlocks can be seen as a form or self-sacrifice. Breaking one of the Seventy-Seven Commandments might result in severe consequences.

Rastafarian culture includes cannabis use. It is considered the "herb of life" and is used to fulfill religious beliefs. Rastafarians give evidence of its use in the biblical text Psalms.104:14. The Psalm mentions God growing herb and grass for man and animals, and bringing forth food from the earth. Rastafarians believe that ganja was also grown at King Solomon’s grave.

The use of the Bible in Rasta belief is not a new concept. Rasta beliefs regarding salvation are similar to Judaism. Rastas hold that true faithfulness is the only way to live. Rastas believe that true faithfulness will allow them to reach a higher plane.

Rasta compound has a place for women

Rastas treat women well. The community expects men to be the dominant members, but women are welcomed to join in its activities, including Ganja-smoking rituals. Women feel welcome and supported in an atmosphere that is generally low-intensity.

While the Rastafarian religion is dominated by male figures, there are also women who play prominent roles. Many of them think about their roles as mothers or women. Women were subservient to men in early Rastafarian mythology. Their roles were rooted within biblical gender roles.
