The Zoroastrianism Beliefs

oldest religion in the world

Zoroastrians believe there is an eternal battle between good and harm in the world. Everybody is responsible for fighting evil, on both an intellectual and physical level. Zoroastrians believe God created mankind and is also the creator of all things. So, they view themselves as fellow soldiers in the fight against evil.

Two types of time

In Zoroastrianism, time is divided into two types: daily and weekly. The first is the sacred day. The latter is the period for the dead. Zoroastrians believe dead people have the ability to affect the living. These spirits can bring wealth and fertility or they can bring sickness and hardship. They offer special animal sacrifices and wine as offerings to these spirits.

One

Zoroastrianism, a religion that is focused on one God, is Zoroastrianism. Although it shares many beliefs with Christianity, its belief system of one God does not apply to all people. The Hebrew people actually invented the concept for one God over a thousand-years before Zoroastrianism was created. The prophet Isaiah, which spoke of Christ's virgin pregnancy in 701 BC, was a century ahead of Zoroastrianism.

Purity

Zoroastrianism believes that purity is an important concept. It refers a belief that Ahura Mazda has been created perfect and that we shouldn't defile it. In practice, this means that Zoroastrians have traditionally avoided cremation and burial. They instead bury their bodies at the Tower of Silence where vultures consume them.

Goodness

Zoroastrianism holds the importance of goodness. Zarasthura (the founder of Zoroastrianism) taught his followers the threefold pathway. This path is similar to Christianity’s “law of love”, which teaches us to follow God's instructions and to make wise, loving decisions. Zoroastrianism, however, emphasizes goodness and not purely good. Its doctrines can be found in many different religions, despite its similarities to Christianity.
