greek gods and goddesses

Ares, one of the Greek gods of Greece, is Zeus's first son. While he isn't favored by his parents nor any of the other gods he loves, Aphrodite is his closest and most faithful lover. The god is frequently associated with violence and warfare in all its ugly manifestations. He is the god who causes bloodshed, violence, indiscriminate murder, and destruction of human life.

Ares was a god of war

Ares was the war God of ancient Greece. He represented the most vicious and barbaric elements of war. He was the brother To Athena, who represents the honorable and benevolent sides of war. While Ares was considered to be the god for war, the Greeks thought that he could aid individuals in their personal battles.

He was a lover for Aphrodite

Zeus and Hera were the parents of Ares. He was associated with death, war, and boundaries. He also loved women. A Greek myth tells of Ares and Aphrodite having a secret affair. Ares wasn't a popular god in ancient Greek mythology. Hephaestus was actually a contemptuous god who often treated Ares as a traitor.

He was a bloodthirsty warrior

Ares, the god war, was a bloodthirsty maniac who thrived on destruction. From around 1200 BC, the Greeks worshipped him. He was born in Thrace. His people were very fearsome. Ares' bloodthirsty nature made him a difficult god to worship and led to many defeats in battle. He was also often put in a pot by giants and was often a victim of Athena’s vengeance.

He was the symbol of indiscriminate killing

Ares was the Greek god and warrior Ares. He was depicted as the man who pierces a shield and sacks a city in mythology. He represented the more brutal side of battle and was opposed to Athena who represents a more strategic manner of war. Ares was a violent god and was often pictured with his brothers Phobos and Deimos, as well as his sister, Eris. His symbols are a knife and a spear. He is also associated as a boar, bird, and carcass.

Athena defeated Athena

Athena, Ares and the sea that thundered in the background fought and fell upon each other. Under their immortal feet, the earth creaked beneath them. Their battle-cries could be heard across the vast sky, all the way to Hades' abyss and into the dark depths. Both gods und men cried in pain.

Spartan warriors revered him.

Spartan society was at its center when the strong Spartan army was there. At seven years old, boys went to war. They had no other choice of education or vocation. The god Ares was worshiped by the Spartans, who represented Sparta's values. In the city, they erected a statue in chains of Ares.
