Monotheism or Polytheism

religion news service bias

All atheists are polytheists

Polytheism allows for a deeper critique of religion. Polytheism recognizes that all deities do not have the same qualities. While some polytheists specialize in worshiping one deity exclusively, others worship several deities at different times. While monotheists complain about the inconsistency of polytheism, polytheists are open to a diversity of beliefs.

Atheism is like every other belief system. There are pros as well as cons. While many scholars disagree about the depth of polytheism in atheists, others affirm that all atheists believe in at least one god.

Idols are our intercessors with Allah

The belief that our idols are intercessors with Allah is very dangerous. This belief is based the myth that Allah is an entity located in a particular location. Worshipping an idol is not the best way to worship Allah.

religion meaning

The Quran warns us about idolatry. It says that idolaters believe independent intercession. They believe that idols work, even if Allah denies them authorization.

They are living religions

Living religions, polytheists, are those who understand the relationship between humans and Gods. These religions are often associated with the ancient world and have evolved into monotheistic societies. In ancient Greek and Roman societies, gods were a part of their cultic life.

Although polytheists have diverse beliefs and practices, there are some common characteristics among them. Polytheistic religious beliefs are often rooted in local cultures. These communities may be able to withstand genocide and colonization in some regions.

They face the same modern challenges that monotheists.

Polytheists are facing the same problems as monotheists in the age of modernity. Monotheism’s evolutionary claims and alleged historical unpredictability should be approached with some skepticism. Members of indigenous polytheistic traditions need to be careful about aligning themselves with such claims. They should instead ask themselves if their beliefs could tip the balance in real-time.

polytheists

Monotheism developed as a result of competing groups seeking authority and not as a victory of one group over another. In the end, the golah community developed monotheistic ideals which made it impossible for the community to claim the land and delegitimize its gods.
