Enhance is a mindfulness program based on evidence that improves cognitive skills and well-being. The program has been tested in adult volunteers across the USA as well as Canada. It has been replicated successfully with college students. Its effectiveness was evaluated in four areas: cognitive function, attention, memory (physical activity), and spirituality. Participants also benefited the most from skill lessons that targeted their weakest areas. The study did find that both groups had improved well-being.
Self-directedness
One of the ways to improve your well being is to learn how to be self-directed. This can be done through a variety of activities. You could take music or art classes. A fitness class is also an option. These activities are generally more enjoyable.
Positive self-concept is another aspect of self direction. This is because people who feel in control are more likely to encourage self-direction in others. A positive self-concept also helps people accept their responsibilities as human family members.

Cooperativeness
The ability to cooperate is a vital social trait for human wellbeing and can even boost our moods. This is especially true in workplaces, where everyone needs to work together to reach goals and ensure smooth operations. A variety of approaches can be used by workplace leaders to foster a collaborative environment.
Because the participants in the study were college students, it is possible that their results are not representative of daily life. They might not be representative of the entire U.S. populace. Prior studies have shown that co-operation is not related to ethnicity or gender. Moreover, the study did not measure the level of trust that participants have for strangers, which is critical in assessing whether people are willing to cooperate.
Self-transcendence
Self-transcendence refers to a state of consciousness and an intentional activity that can reduce stress and improve well being. It can help people find meaning and purpose in difficult situations, or even create new meaning after a loss. Self-transcendence can transform a life or make it more vulnerable. Research has shown self-transcendence can be a predictor and mediator of well-being.
Recent studies show that people who have experienced spiritual experiences scored higher in self-transcendence scores than those without. It was also discovered that self transcendence was associated to higher levels traditional religiousness, paranormal beliefs, and traditional religion. But, the relationship was not independent from existential well-being.

Character development
Angela Duckworth is founder of Character Lab, a nonprofit organization focused on character development. She is also a University of Pennsylvania professor of psychology and Christopher H. Browne distinguished professor. She also serves as faculty co-director of Penn-Wharton Behavior Change For Good Initiative. Duckworth established a summer school in the area of low-income children as part of her academic work. She has also worked as a management consultant and math and science teacher.
Character development can be a multifaceted process. It involves positive and self-motivated behaviours. These behaviors are guided primarily by values. In one study, Israeli twins rated their values at age 11 and at age 13, and found a positive correlation between prosociality and benevolence, and negative associations with universalism, power, and achievement. However, aggression and popular concern had an opposite association. Openness and conservation were also associated with peer conformity as well as risk-taking.
